The Port of Sines was visited by representatives of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Portugal (CCISP), a collaborative initiative with MSC, headed by the Ambassador of Switzerland to Portugal, Markus-Alexander Antonietti.

The delegation was welcomed at the auditorium of APS by Fernanda Albino, APS' Member of the Board, and  Isabel Cardoso, vice-president of aicep Global Parques. The most recent development projects in Sines were presented, not only the ones related to port development and operation, but also the new investments planned for the ZILS – Sines Industrial and Logistic Area.

It should be noted that some Swiss companies settled in Portugal surely  benefit from the maritime connections to support their foreign trade with the rest of the world, while the new investments at the ZILS  constitute a potential investment opportunity for Swiss companies.

The delegation also had the opportunity to visit Terminal XXI, where they learned about the operating conditions of this port infrastructure, as well as the ongoing expansion that will almost double the terminal's installed capacity. The visit headed to the ZILS, where the projects related to the digital sector and data storage were highlighted, as well as those related to industry and green energy production and logistics. In fact, in waht concerns logistics, the ZILS offers an area of 200 hectares located next to the Sines Container Terminal.

The close relationship with business entities representing import and export companies, such as the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, reinforces the positioning of the Port of Sines as an international maritime port and presents the Port, Industrial and Logistic Platform of Sines as an ideal place for new investments.
