The Port of Sines received, on November 28, a delegation from Panama with representatives from the agency responsible for attracting investment and export promotion from that country, from the Panamanian Association of Exporters and from Embassy of Panama in Portugal.

This visit, coordinated by aicep Global Parques, aimed to show the potentialities of the Port of Sines and ZILS - Sines Industrial and Logistics Zone with the goal to strengthening the economic relationship between the two countries, either by increasing the port handling or by locating Panamanian investments in Sines.

With an annual traffic of around 35,000 TEU (20 foot containers) between Port of Sines and Panamanian ports, this country is currently served by two regular weekly services passing through the Panama Canal to North and South America.
