On May 27, the Minister of Customs of the People's Republic of China, Ni Yuefeng, visited the Port of Sines accompanied by the State Secretary for Tax Affairs of the Portuguese government, António Mendonça Mendes.

The delegation, which also included senior representatives of the tax and customs systems of China and Portugal, was received by the President of APS, José Luís Cacho, who presented the main characteristics of Sines and port expansion projects. In fact, the Port of Sines offers a weekly connection with that country of the Far East, which represents an annual movement of more than 100 thousand containers.

This visit, organized by the Ministry of the Sea, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance, had as its main agenda the cooperation mechanism of the EU-China Customs Authorities, as well as the sharing of views and experience on the concept "one stop shop", implemented in the Port of Sines through JUP – Port Single Window and currently being extended to the hinterland through JUL – Logistic Single Window.
