The Port of Sines received, on 26 July, the ship "LNG CASTILLO DE CALDELAS" on an maiden voyage. The vessel docked at the Liquefied Natural Gas Terminal coming from the port of Ras Laffan in Qatar, to unload about 63,000 tonnes of natural gas for the Portuguese market.

The "LNG CASTILLO DE CALDELAS", built in the shipyards of Imabari Shipbuilding (Japan), has an overall length of 297 meters and a beam of 49 meters, with a maximum draft of 12.4 meters, less than the 15 meters to the hydrographic zero of water depth offered by the Sines’ Natural Gas Terminal.

As usual, APS – Port Authority of Sines and Algarve marked the event with the delivery of a plaque to the Commander of the ship, alluding to the occasion.
