On September 17, the Port of Sines received the delegation of Portugal Shipping Week (PSW), beginning a series of events related to the maritime-port sector, which are held in Portugal, focusing on Economy, Science and Technology.
This first edition of PSW, which runs from September 17 to 21, is an initiative promoted by the Ministry of the Sea in partnership with Shipping Innovation, which aims to bring together in our country, decision makers and stakeholders of the various aspects of global shipping, affirming the position of Portugal in these markets.
PSW comprises several high-level events and is an excellent opportunity for ship-owners, operators, investors and representatives of maritime communities to establish, develop or strengthen trade relations, confirming Portugal as the world's leading maritime logistics center.
The PSW delegation, made up of about 50 international participants, began its program with a visit to Porto Sines, where they were welcomed in an opening session and welcome by the APS’ Board of Directors.
The delegation also made a visit to the port infrastructures of the Port of Sines to get to know in detail several operational aspects of the port, namely the five specialized terminals, able to move any type of ships and cargo.
The port of Sines, as the main national port in a busy cargo, is an essential infrastructure in the foreign promotion of the country, mainly in what concerns the location of foreign direct investment, affirming itself as an international port platform, integrated in the main logistics chains.
