The Blue Flag Association of Europe announced, on last April 30, the award of the Blue Flag to the Vasco da Gama Beach and the Sines’ Leisure Port, both infrastructures managed by APS – Ports of Sines and Algarve Authority.

The Blue Flag is awarded to beaches or infrastructures that comply with a set of requirements, not only environmental, but also of security and well-being of users, whether in what concerns the information available and environmental awareness activities.

In fact, in 2017 the Vasco da Gama Beach was awarded the Blue Flag for ten years in a row, while the Sines’ Leisure Port was awarded for nine consecutive years; thus attesting the compromise of this Port Authority towards social and environment issues.
