Sines grows 16,4%, surpassing 51 Million TONS

After a series of years achieving record after record, in 2016 the Port of Sines handled more than 51MTONS, thus corresponding to an increase of 16,4% over the previous year’s results.

 

With all its terminals growing, a special attention must be paid to the Container Terminal – Terminal XXI, with an homologous variation of 25%, representing a total of 20,6 MTONS, 4MTONS more than in 2015.

 

The Liquid Bulk Terminal was second in terms of growing rate, with a 15,6% increase over 2015; 3MTONS more handled during the same homologous period.

Still in containerized cargo, and in what concerns the volume of TEU, Sines has surpassed de 1,5MTEU, totaling 1.513MTEU, thus corresponding to an increase of 13,6% over 2015.

 

In 2016 2.422 vessels called Sines, 235 more than in 2015 and a growing rate of 10,7%.
