On January 12, a delegation from the Port of Sines led by President José Luís Cacho visited Talavera de la Reina, Spain, at the invitation of the city's mayor, Jaime Ramos. This meeting aimed to establish a partnership for the development of the logistic platform of Talavera de la Reina, with Sines being considered by the Spanish authorities as the port of excellence for the movement of goods in imports and exports from that region to the whole globe.
The logistic platform is designed for an area of 260 hectares and will be phased in order to meet market needs. Talavera de la Reina is located on the Atlantic Corridor of the trans-European transport network, benefiting from the modernization of which the railway line between Sines and Madrid is being targeted.
The program of the visit included working meetings between the members of the Port of Sines and responsible for the development of the platform, as well as representatives of the business sector of the Castilla-La Mancha region, in order to establish long-term partnerships that enhance this logistics platform.
For José Luis Cacho, this is an "important project for both Sines and the region of Castilla-La Mancha", having verified the strong commitment of the City and all the entities with which he met for the development of the platform, guaranteeing the Port of Sines’ total support to the project.
