Port of Sines handles 11,3 million tons of cargo during the 1st quarter.

In the first three months of 2016 the Port of Sines handled 13,4% more of cargo over the same period of the previous year, totalling 11,3 million tons.

In the major types of cargo, a growth of 29.4% was registered in the dry bulk, 25,2% in general cargo and 1,7% in liquid bulk.

Containers handling reached 309,822 TEU, corresponding to 10,9% more compared to the first quarter of 2015.

Vessel traffic increased 20,7%, along with a 24,1% growth in the GT (Gross Tonnage).
