September closes the best quarter ever registered in the Port of Sines, with a total cargo handling of 13,8 million tons. In fact, during the first nine months of 2016, Sines already handled 37,9 million tons, corresponding to an homologous growth of 14%.

These third quarter results are mainly influenced by both the Liquid Bulk and the Container Terminals, which have grown 20% and 18% respectively, when compared to same period of 2015.

In what concerns General Cargo, where containerized cargo is included, the Container Terminal – Terminal XXI, continues to present sustained increasing rates, representing already 38% of the total cargo handled at the port, and a 4% growth in the volumes of TEU handled.

The number of vessels performing commercial operations has also increased 13%, while in Import/Export we must enhance a 22% growth in loading operations.
