The Sines Multipurpose Terminal, concessioned to Portsines, reinforced its operational conditions with the installation of a new mobile crane. This new equipment increases the capacity of the terminal, allowing the handling of cargo with greater productivity.

The new "Liebherr LHM420" crane, with a capacity to raise 124 tonnes and move 1500 tonnes per hour in its standard configuration, allows the handling of cargo up to 44 meters above the quay and 14 meters below the quay, offering a range between 10.5 and 48 meters. The crane arrived at Sines by sea, on the ship "Rolldock Sun", and the unloading operation was carried out using the own means of the crane, in the terminal’s ro-ro ramp.

It should be recalled that the this terminal is a multipurpose infrastructure of the Port of Sines, dedicated to the handling of dry bulk and general cargo, and this new equipment allows the loading and unloading of the vessels in a more efficiently way, contributing to increase port productivity .
