On last March 8, the Minister of the Sea, Ana Paula Vitorino, headed the inauguration ceremony of the new cold warehouse at the Port of Sines.
This new investment, made by FP Sines Lda, a company belonging to the Spanish group Friopuerto Investment, dynamises the ZALSINES – Sines’ Logistic Activities Zone by diversifying the offer to the handling of perishable products, allowing the warehouse to maintain the cold chain and tracing of the product.
The operation of the new warehouse will be supported on the state-of-the-art processes and technology in the management of cold rooms, allowing offering all kinds of transhipment services, cross-docking and value-added services, such as temperature-controlled storage, logistic transport services and business solutions, among others.
Being the activities related to the sea one of the priorities of the XXI Constitutional Government’s Program, the presence of the Minister of the Sea in this ceremony was particularly important for the Sines port platform, an infrastructure with high growth potential, whether in port, logistics or industrial areas. This new investment reinforces the port value chain, contributing to boosting the economy of the sea in this particular segment.
