Ambassador of Singapore visits Port of Sines

Zainal Arif Mantaha, Ambassador of Singapore to Portugal, visited the Port and the industrial complex of Sines. The diplomat was received by APS’ CEO, João Franco, the Mayor of Sines, Nuno Mascarenhas, Francisco Mendes Palma, CEO of Aicep Global Parks and John Phillips, General Manager of Terminal XXI, representing PSA Sines.

The competitive advantages of the triangle Port - ZILS - City were presented during the meeting, with particular emphasis on the large available area in Sines for expansion and establishment of new investments of any dimension respectively in the port, industrial and logistics zone.

The strengthening of the commercial relations between Sines and Singapore is common goal, driven by the strong existing relationship, as the concessionaire of the Sines Container Terminal – Terminal XXI is PSA International from Singapore, world’s leading container operator, registering yearly handling volumes around 64M TEU. Note that the Terminal XXI offers a regular weekly connection to the Far East, with a stopover in Singapore - Lion Service, representing 17% of the total containerized cargo handled in Sines.
