A business delegation from the Brazilian State of Goias visited the Port of Sines on last April 8. The delegation, received by João Franco and José Pedro Soares, APS’ CEO and Member of the Board respectively, intended to know the potentiality of Sines to be the gateway to Europe for companies belonging to that Brazilian state.
The characteristics of the Port of Sines impressed the visitors, especially the natural depth and state-of-the-art equipment in all the terminals, which allow the reception of any ship and cargo.
The IT systems, namely the electronic dispatch in the “Janela Única Logística” (Logistic Single Window) and its extension to the inland transport operators and dry ports motivated also great interest of the delegation.
The visitors recognized the quality of the Port of Sines and will work in promoting short-terms business contacts. The important economy of the State of Goias is based on agricultural production, livestock, trade and mining, food, clothing, furniture, metallurgy, and timber.
