The Port of Sines handled a total of 9,9 million tons on the first quarter of 2015, which represents an increase of 21,6% when compared to last year’s results.
Containerized cargo registered 279.347 TEU, between January and March, corresponding to a homologous growth of 3%.
The global evolution of the Port of Sines is associated to the increase on dry bulk cargo, which grew 52,7%, despite the decrease on general cargo. Liquid bulk grew 33,3%.
During this first quarter, 477 ships were operated, corresponding to an homologous increase of 0,85%.
These indicators are a result of the sustainable growth of this port infrastructure, which must be associated to the commitment of all the Port Community in boosting the development of the Port of Sines.
