Port of Sines handles 21,8 million tons on the first semester

On the first 6 months of the year, the Port of Sines handled 21,8 million of tons, representing a growth of 25% over the same period of the previous year. All types of cargo contributed to this new maximum, since all the five specialized terminals of the Port of Sines grew during the first half of 2015.

Containerized cargo registered 676.950 TEU on the 1st half of this year, resulting on a growth of 13%, compared to 2014. The 2nd quarter of 2015 paid an important contribution to this achievement, when the month of June reached 141.022 TEU handled.

Bunkers supply (fuel for vessels) grew 35% (219.579 tons), while the number of vessels in commercial operation grew 8,6% and the GT (Gross Tonnage) grew 11,6%.
