The Ports of Sines and the Algarve Authority (APS) and the Border Authority (SEF) signed an agreement aiming to provide faster and more effective procedures in what concerns the access to international areas of the port and on board, applicable to the ports of Faro and Portimão.

After the installation of the access control system in the port areas of the two ports of the Algarve, the Port Single Card (CUP), which was already in operation at the Port of Sines, was extended to the port facilities in the Algarve, allowing now to have a unique solution in the three ports under the jurisdiction of APS.

In this manner, the clients of the three ports are provided harmonized and simplified procedures, aiming to ease the procedures concerning the dispatch of crew, passengers and works on board. Clients can now require for authorizations for the three ports with a unique request, being the access given in an integrated way by APS and SEF agencies by one-way, under the philosophy of the Single Port Window: through a single data entry obtain all authorizations and dispatches.
