APS’ CEO, João Franco, participated in the debate on the investment priorities of Portugal 2020, integrating the conference “Services – A Quiet Revolution”, which took place on June 29, at the Estoril Congress Centre.

João Franco took part on the panel under the theme “Priorities in Investment and Services Sector Finance” and presented the Port of Sines as a supply chain interface, providing services to vessels and cargoes, and playing an essential role on national economy.

Sines offers agile and simplified services, with an high productivity rate, a key factor for the positioning of the Port in the market where it competes, especially in the competitive containers’ market, a situation that becomes even more important with the operation of new megacarriers and the alliances of the major operators, involving massive cargo handling during the vessels’ calls.

This conference is part of the Ciclo de Conferências Caixa 2020 –Caixa 2020 Conference, organized by Caixa Geral de Depósitos and by the newspaper Público, which aims to discuss the implementation of EU funds on the Portugal 2020 Program.
